FAQ

Is this just a consulting session?

No way. Imagine building your dream home in the hills. Do you pick a general contractor and tell him to start buying 2x4s? NO. You pick the best architect who learns your vision, applies her expertise, and delivers you blue prints for your house. Most dev shops start with “wireframes.” Building without an investment in scoping is like making blueprints while you’re doing drywall. It results in an inferior, way too expensive end product. Patmos is the architect. We’re also the GC. We don’t just come in to give you advice. We deliver a real plan set that your in-house dev team or any qualified dev team can build on.

Is this just a sales pitch?

No way. That’s why we make you pay for it. Scoping is the product. You’re already sold. Once we draft your final intensive document, it’s yours to keep and use however you see fit. We encourage all of our clients to get competing bids with that document.

Does Patmos just outsource and offshore work like most development agencies?

No way. 100% of Patmos development and scoping is done by experienced, US based, w2 Patmos team members who work out of our Denver Development Headquarters.

My project is more than just a web build or an app. Can a Patmos Intensive cover infrastructure needs too?

We are Patmos Hosting after all. That’s where we really shine. We’ve served companies with all kinds of needs, and every team we put on an intensive is specifically tailored to the needs of our clients.

Do you offer non-profit discounts?

Yes. 15%. and we have lots of experience serving mission-based organizations.

I’ve heard there’s a long wait for a Patmos intensive. Do I have to get in line?

Sometimes there’s a line out the door. Because we don’t outsource like most agencies, we tend to be selective in clients we accept for an intensive. Sometimes we’re not the best fit, in which case we can recommend you to our friends. Most clients are able to get an intensive booked within six months of reaching out depending on the complexity of their project. After our first call, we can usually give you an idea of when we can get you on the calendar.

How much does a Patmos Intensive Cost?

Most intensives cost between $30,000 and $130,000 depending on your needs and complexity.

Does Patmos just “scope” by recommending tech stacks it likes to build with?

No way. Our teams are committed to full technical agnosticism. From coding languages, to CMS choices, platforms, and tools – everything is recommended with your goals, budget, and requirements in mind. We will never shoehorn you into a choice just because it works for us. The intensive is about you.
